Guide for Using Digital Stationery®
in Windows Live Mail

Please note: Microsoft has used a number of similar names for some very different email programs. We recommend that our product be sent from Microsoft's PC-based mail programs which are Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail (through Version 2009).

Please note that after Live Mail 2009, Microsoft changed the program so that stationery is not directly supported. (It is possible to use stationery in these later programs, but it has to be installed as a "signature" which is not as flexible or easy to use.) For this reason, we recommend that our customers who want to use Live Mail, use the Version 2009 which is available for free installation here. This is a link to Version 2009 which works on Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7, 8, and 10.

PLEASE NOTE: We downloaded and screened this file for viruses on 2/8/2018. At that time it was clean and we installed the Windows Live Mail program and it functioned as described. For your safety, we recommend that when you download the installation file you should right-click it and have your anti-virus program scan it to ensure that it is safe. We tested this procedure as described on 2/8/2018 and it worked properly, but we cannot accept responsibility for changes that may have been made to the installation file since that time.

To Set Up Your Stationery in Windows Live Mail 2009. (You will do these steps only once.)

  6. After installation, UNcheck the boxes that set Bing as your default search provider and MSN as your browser home page (unless you want them).
  7. Click the "Don't enable" button for the Windows Live Sign-in Helper (unless you want it).
  8. Follow the instructions provided by your email host to set up the incoming and outgoing mail servers (server names, ports, password, etc.)

Step 2. Install Your Stationery on Your PC

Click on the installation link that we provided to you in the email message with installation instructions. (This link is unique to each customer so we cannot provide it here.)

  1. On our website, click the green button to accept our license agreement.
  2. On the next page, follow the instructions to install your stationery on your PC.
  3. At the end of this short process you will see a message that says, "Thank you for installing Digital Stationery®."

Our installation routine stores copies of your stationery templates in a new folder in your "Documents" area called "My Digital Stationery." You will not have to do steps #1 and #2 again; they were a one-time set-up requirement.

  4. In the pop-up window, navigate to your new "My Digital Stationery" folder (in your "Documents" area), then find and click on your stationery template.
